Tottenham Hotspurs have qualified for the semi-finals of this season's Carabao cup.
Spurs booked a spot in the next stage of the competition after defeating rivals, Arsenal, 2-0 at the Emirates on Wednesday night, December 19.
Son Heung-min and Dele Alli netted a goal apiece to inspire Mauricio Pochettino's side to a remarkable victory.
The crunch clash came just days after Arsenal defeated Spurs 4-2 in the London derby in a Premier League encounter.
Therefore, Pochettino was keen to get a perfect revenge over the Gunners during the EFL Cup quarter-finals tie.
Both Pochettino and Unai Emery fielded strong squads, with Spurs boss opting for Heung-min in place of star forward, Harry Kane.
The tactical decision was validated as the South Korean went on to fire the visitors in front within just 20 minutes of game play.
Aaron Ramsey nearly equalised for the hosts with a sensational volley, but his effort from Alex Iwobi's cross hit the woodwork as both sides headed into half time with Spurs leading.
In the second half, Pochettino introduced Kane in place of Lucas Moura, with the English talisman playing a key part in Spurs' second goal scored by Dele Alli in the 59th minute.
The home side had a couple of goalscoring chances in the dying minutes of the match, but Spurs managed to hold on to progress to the semi-final.
