Akufo-Addo in 2020: Ghanaians give reasons why they will vote for or against him

Earlier this week, YEN.com.gh asked on Facebook our readers what factors they would look at when they vote for or against Nana Akufo-Addo in 2020. This has become necessary because in the last few months political tensions have arisen as the general elections beckon.

Different reasons were given by Ghanaians. While some thought the man and his New Patriotic Party (NPP) deserved four more years to see through their plans, others were not so enthused.

President Akufo-Addo looks set to contest the presidency again against the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) John Mahama who is the frontrunner in that party's primaries.

YEN.com.gh compiled qa list of the comments that best represented that general observations made by Ghanaians.

Richardson Asempa wrote that "I will vote for him because Ghana is hard". It is harder to figure out if this Facebook user was being sarcastic.

Others felt that because of the connection with Akufo-Addo's party,it was impossible to vote for another party. Oliver Bruce is one of them.

The views got a bit harsher and Tamanja Job symbolised that sentiment. This Facebook user said, "this arrogant and corrupt nepotistic egocentric man paaa,,,,". We do not think he is a fan of the president.

Wunnam K Bonafides was straightforward and wrote: "Corruption will make me vote against him."

Bilal Ibi Salia was one of the few who had a dissenting view from the the usual "for or against". This Facebook user wrote that: "This is needless because Ghanaians do not vote on issues but rather love party".

It remains to be seen what will happen to the president. 2020 is after all, not far away.
