Ursula Owusu calls Mahama a dreamer and Ghanaians react to the comments

Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has jabbed former president John Mahama over his presidential ambitions calling the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader, a dreamer.

The quote from Owusu-Ekuful read: “John Mahama is not going anywhere. There is nothing wrong with dreaming and so he should continue to dream.

They were in a comfortable lead during the 2016 elections and trust me John Mahama and his party are still in a comfortable lead."

Anyone familiar with politics in Ghana knows this is one of the usual things politicians say about themselves. But Facebook users did not take kindly to the minister's comments.

Paa Kwesi felt the minister had bigger fish to fry than to castigate John Mahama. This Facebook user wrote: "You are rather dreaming cos you will lose the Ablekuma seat."

Another, Alfred Larbi Kpetigo, asked that: "When will you learn to respect an elderly person?"

Sean Mase-code was more critical. This Facebook user wrote: 'She thinks the NPP can rig the elections this time around." YEN.com.gh do not know of any evidence pointing to the fact that the present government stole the last elections.

Abraham Barouwa rather resorted to calling the minister a shameless person.
