Seven people reportedly die in gory Christmas accident in the Eastern region

Seven persons are feared dead in an accident at Donkorkrom in the Kwahu Affram Plains district of the Eastern Region. Reports indicate that all those feared dead are men.

They were onboard a crane truck with registration AW 4067 when the accident occurred.

Myjoyonline.com reports that the victims were said to be part of holidaymakers travelling from Donkorkrom to a beach at Agodeke as part of the Christmas festivity.

The cause of the accident is yet to be established.

However, residents who rushed to the scene to rescue victims believe the driver lost control of his steering wheel.

The vehicle then plunged into a nearby bush, according to the witnesses.

One of these witnesses, Kasim Kabore, said police in the area have been able to arrest the driver of the vehicle to assist in investigations.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the dead have been deposited at the Presbyterian hospital in Donkorkrom.

In another news, a police officer has been captured in a video that has gone viral on social media demanding GHC 100 from traffic offenders at a police station.
