Rev Nagbemado was a true man of God not a ritualist - Family of slain pastor cries

The family of Assemblies of God pastor, Reverend David Nagbemado, who was stabbed and killed by his nephew, has come out to denounce his actions.

In a press statement released on Monday, the family distanced itself from the actions of Francis Nagbemado, their family member and assailant who took his uncle’s life.

In the statement, the family asserted that the pastor was a true man of God and through his work had impacted the lives of many.

“The family of the Nagbemados wants to state categorically that Rev Dr David Mankrom Nagbemado was a genuine man of God, who was humble and down to earth," the family stated.

Following the murder, the suspect assumed responsibility for the crime but suggested that his actions were justified because his uncle engaged in human sacrifices.

According to the family, Rev. Nabegmado was not an idol worshipper, “but a true man of God.”

As earlier reported by that the man of God was stabbed to death by his nephew called Francis when he was scheduled to deliver his sermon Sunday.

According to the nephew, he killed his uncle because he was an idol worshipper who used to use members of the family for ritual sacrifice.

Francis added that his uncle committed the crime every two days by killing a member of the family.
