National Chief Imam begs Muslims to forgive Owusu Bempah

- The National Chief Imam has called on Muslims not to attack Owusu Bempah

- His comments follow the attack on Bempah by some Muslim youths for saying the Imam would die this year

- The Chief Imam appealed to the youths to help maintain the peace Muslims have with other religions

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, has called on Muslims to refrain from attacking the leader of Glorious Word Ministry, Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah.

Owusu Bempah, according to an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, was attacked by an angry Muslim mob.

This attack followed his prediction that the Chief Imam was part of his list of public figures who are going to die in 2019.

Apart from the Imam, Bempah mentioned other names including John Mahama, ex-president Kufuor and his wife Theresa, Vice President Bawumia, among others who were going to die.

But the Muslim youths did not take the so-called prophecy about the Chief Imam’s death lightly and decided to attack Owusu Bempah.

However, the Imam has urged the youth to refrain from the attack and endeavour to maintain peace in the society.

He added that every human being shall taste death one day and so Owusu Bempah should be forgiven and left alone.

“We are living in peace with Christians and other religions so let’s maintain that relationship. Leave him with his character and forgive him. As for death every soul shall taste it either today or tomorrow so no need to attack the man,” the Chief Imam reportedly said according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Ghanaweb.com.

"Please leave him and forgive him, I am begging you, I am begging you," he stressed.

But the Muslim youths have threatened to deal with Rev Owusu Bempah till he comes out to apologise for the ‘prophecies of doom’ about the Chief Imam.
