Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly rejected a return to Portuguese club Benfica where he started his coaching career.

Since the ex Chelsea coach was dismissed at Manchester United, he has been linked with many top European clubs.

Recently, Portuguese club Benfica sacked their manager Rui Vitoria after three years in charge of the team, and Jose Mourinho has been linked with the job.

But according to the report by Record, Jose Mourinho is not interested in returning to Benfica not even on a short term basis.

The report added that Jose Mourinho was approached but despite not giving them an outright 'no' he indicated returning to Benfica is not in his plans at the moment.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid reportedly opened talks with Portuguese football manager Jose Mourinho with the possibility of him returning to the club next year.

Jose Mourinho was recently sacked at Premier League side Manchester United, and fresh news coming in stated clearly that he is wanted by Real Madrid chiefs five years after leaving them.

According to the report, negotiations is currently going on between Los Blancos' chiefs and Jose Mourinho.
