Ghana’s ‘Highest’ rapper, Sarkodie, has made an emotional revelation about his life concerning his infancy.
According to him, he lived and grew up with a guardian in Achimota, Accra, when he was a child adding that he didn’t know where his mother was.
This guardian, according to the successful musician, abused him so much that he became a miserable kid with a miserable life, according to a news report monitored by YEN.com.gh on GHone TV on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
Sarkodie was reported to have said that all that time, the treatment given him at the hands of the guardian got him to know that he or she wasn’t his parent.
Perhaps, as faced by other children who live with guardians, he was made to do household chores ‘bigger’ than him, starved, and beaten by this guardian at the slightest mistake he made, and other maltreatment one can think of.
And as a poor child then, he didn’t know where his mother and father were, therefore, had to endure all that he went through alone.
Sarkodie said at the sound of the closing bell, he would panic because he dreaded going home to the poor treatment.
The ‘Pain Killer’ hitmaker was also reported to have said that he did not have it rosy growing up, but today, he has been blessed so much by God.
According to the report, he added that given the kind of hard life he endured during his infancy, he did not know that he would become a prominent person one day in the future.
Indeed, Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, is one of the very famous and successful musicians Ghana can boast of.
He had chalked enormous success in his career and life since the release of his first single ‘Baby’ way back in 2019.
Recently, an international magazine rated him as the richest musician in Ghana as he appeared in the list of rich African musicians together with some Nigerian superstars.
He has been in the news recently following a revelation he made about his wife Tracy that at the time he wanted to date her, she already had a boyfriend.
However, Sarkodie said he never gave up, instead he waited patiently and prayed that Tracy would break up with her boyfriend so he could have her.
The two have blessed with a daughter affectionately called Titi, and after reportedly dating for thirteen years, tied the knot in July 2018.
