Barcelona announce the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo from French League side Toulouse

- Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo

- The French youngster is expected to join the Catalans in July 2019

- His current deal with his present club will expire at the end of this 2018-19 season

Spanish League champions Barcelona have agreed to sign Tolouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo at the end of this season.

The 19-year-old center back will run out of contract with his French league side in June, and will join the Catalans on a free transfer in July.

Todibo joined the Stadium Municipal outfit in 2016 from FC Les Lilas as a youth player and got promoted to Alain Casanova's team two years after.

He made his first team debut at the beginning of the 2018/19 season at the age of just 18 against Girondins Bordeaux in the second game of the Ligue 1 campaign.

And has found the back of the net once in 10 Ligue 1 appearances for the French club this season, all of them in the starting XI.

Todibo has represented France on two occasions at the U-20 level, and can play at centre back and also in the centre of the midfield.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic won’t rule out a move away from the Russian topflight in the forthcoming winter transfer window Russia in January.

Goal.com reports that the 34-year-old is on the radar of Barcelona, with French World Cup star Samuel Umtiti still struggling to recover from a knee surgery.

The report further revealed that the La Liga champions are eager to seal a short-term contract for Ivanovic as they are plotting a long term for Ajax centre-back Matthijs De Ligt at the end of the campaign.
