The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tamale North Constituency, Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini, has observed that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has grown younger after two years in office.
This, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) member said, was rather strange because previous presidents had grown older much faster while in office.
Suhuyini however chipped in that Akufo-Addo’s youthful looks may be as a result of the kind of places he goes for holidays.
The lawmaker was assessing the two-year-old government of Nana Akufo-Addo on TV3’s New Day on Tuesday, January 8, 2018.
January 7 marked exactly two years Akufo-Addo was sworn into office as the fifth president of the Fourth Republic of Ghana and Ghanaians have been assessing his government.
Suhuyini did not however stop at the looks of the president. He went on to describe the government as a fundamentally dishonest one.
He mentioned for instance that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had dismissed prior to the 2016 elections, that the NDC had invested in infrastructure development.
But then the NPP came into government to claim they were paying contractors the NDC owed. He then criticised the way contractors were being handled by the government describing it as unfair.
In concluding, he quipped: “Akufo-Addo promised to fight stealing with a stolen speech".
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that the government of Ghana has cancelled a GHC362 million contract with the Jospong Group of Companies.
The deal, which was to facilitate the supply of waste bins, was abrogated after investigations revealed that the figures involved had been inflated.
