Former President John Dramani Mahama has launched a blistering attack at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the manner in which his free Senior High School (SHS) policy is being implemented stating that he makes it appear as though it is the only problem of the country.
The former president said Ghanaians appear to have been gagged from complaining because the president has made that the the implementation of the education policy a response to every request or complaint.
Addressing party faithful as part of his 5-day tour in the in Ellembelle District of Western Region, the former president observed that the current administration is seeking for cover from its nonperformance with the excuse that free SHS has been provided to the citizenry.
Mahama is quoted as saying: “Today if you say you are hungry, they say we have given you free SHS; if drivers say they are unable to afford fuel, they say we have given you free SHS so keep quiet.
Farmers who complain they cannot purchase fertiliser for their cocoa, they say keep quiet we have given you free SHS…if you complain of anything they say we have given you free SHS."
He implored the supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to support him to bring back the party into power.
