2 things Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must do to get the Man United job permanently

- Ole Gunnaer Solskjaer has had a bright start to his tenure as Man United boss on interim capacity

- The Norwegian replaced Jose Mourinho in December after the Portuguese's sacking

- He is eyeing the United job on a permanent basis at the end of the season

It is no secret that Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has had a bright start at Old Trafford since taking over from Jose Mourinho who was sacked in December.

The Norwegian tactician has successfully guided the Red Devils to five straight wins in all competitions except the Champions League.

The side, however, still sits sixth on the Premier League standings, just three points behind fifth-placed Arsenal with a game to play.

The Manchester outfit has also notched an impressive 16 goals since the arrival of Solskjaer from Molde.

His tactical exploits have seen the Manchester United legend emerge as a top contender for the Red Devils job on a permanent basis.

On his part, Solskajer has not hid his desire to have the United job full-time, admitting he would not love to leave in the summer during a candid press conference a week ago.

However, despite managing to bring the swagger back at Old Trafford in such a short stint, reports in the UK contend Ole Gunnar will either need to win the FA Cup or Champions League, as well as finish in the top four to have a "serious chance".

The Norwegian's litmus test will be when his side battles Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday, January 13, at Wembley stadium.

Solskjaer will be fighting for the bragging rights against Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino, who is also understood to be on United's shortlist for the Red Devils job.

Pochettino is a strong contender to take over the reins at the end of the summer alongside former Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane.
