4 by-elections to hit NPP before 2020 elections - Islamic seer drops prophecy

Mallam Shamuna Ustaz Jibril says the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no chance of winning the upcoming bye-election in Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency. But he also predicted that at least four more bye-elections will hit the ruling party.

The Islamic cleric is predicting a massive win for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming election but claimed it will not be easy for them.

He is quoted by Peacefmonline.com as saying: "The upcoming bye-election in Ayawaso West constituency will be very serious and tough".

Sheikh Jibril however reserved his predictions in the other four constituency by-elections that he says will happen before the general elections of 2020.

The Electoral Commission has set Thursday, January 31, 2019, as the date for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency by-election.

The seat became vacant following the death of the New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for the constituency, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko, who died at the age of 60 on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Three persons have filed their nomination to contest to lead the NDC into the bye-election - the three are Ekwow Acquah, Delali Kwasi Brempong and Donna Selassie Agbo.
