The Ghana Police Service has finally waded into the confusion surrounding the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of Menzgold.
After many reports going back and forth on his arrest, the police have finally confirmed that NAM1 has been arrested in Dubai.
In an official statement, the police said Nana Appiah was in the custody of Dubai police, and would update Ghanaians on the procedures soon.
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported how he was arrested in Dubai following a complaint filed by an individual in that country accusing him of fraud.
However, a report claiming to have been triggered by the police in Dubai dispelled the arrest report.
Now that the Ghana police has confirmed, then Nana Appiah is finally being held in Dubai police custody.
He had earlier been declared wanted by INTERPOL following charges of defrauding under false pretenses being levelled against him.
NAM1 has failed to pay back monies invested with his company since Menzgold was shut down by the BoG and SEC about six months ago.
This has caused confusion and tension in Ghana as persons with investment with the company would not rest, and have embarked on several demonstrations.
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported the story of how armed policemen stormed the house of NAM1's mother as part of investigations concerning him.
Also, a popular prophet has revealed NAM1's blurred future with regards to his situation now.
We are following up on this new development and would update readers as fresh information come in.
