- Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain has given Chelsea fans something to cheer about after missing out of AC Milan team picture released on Twitter earlier today
- The Juventus striker who is on loan at Milan is heavily wanted by the Blues this month
- Chelsea fans took to social media to express their excitement hoping that the forward is on his way to Stamford Bridge
Chelsea have been handed a boost in their chase to sign Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain as he was missing in the team picture of AC Milan posted earlier today.
The Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has been planning to bring his former forward to the Premier League when he decided to join the Stamford Bridge outfit last summer.
It is no more news that the Italian tactician is not impressed with the duo of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud and will be open to landing a replacement for the under-firing stars.
Chelsea are currently fourth on the log with 47 points after 22 matches, and the handler will be hoping he can strengthen his team to avoid dropping out of the top four spots.
"ACMilan wanted to thank the Saudi Prince and President of the General Sport Authority, Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, for the great welcoming during his visit with the team and management on the morning of the #SuperCup Final#JuveMilan #Supercoppa
The team posted their picture with the Saudi prince earlier this morning on their Twitter handle but there was one famous face who could not be seen – Chelsea target Higuain.
Milan then posted more pictures showing the squad training, and again there was no sign of Higuain.
The Argentine is on a season long loan deal at Milan from Juventus, but he wants to quit in order to link up with former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
Negotiations are complicated for the Blues, who are having to deal with a number of factors such as pre-agreed payments and replacement signings while also talking with Atletico Madrid over an exit for Alvaro Morata.
SunSport however reports that it appears talks are heading in the right direction, with Higuain’s omission from the snap suggesting he won’t play a part in tonight’s Cup final – possibly for fear of risking injury.
Meanwhile, some Chelsea fans are already excited with the development and expressed their delight on Twitter.
One said that: “Higuain is missing here… on his way to Chelsea?” Another wrote: “Either Higuain is all but confirmed to Chelsea or he’s the one who took this photo.”
One fan added: “I’m reaching but I highly doubt Higuain could take such a high quality photo.”
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Premier League giants Chelsea are close to sealing a move for Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain this month.
The 31-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri last summer as a replacement for under-firing Alvaro Morata.
Despite scoring just six goals in 15 Italian League matches so far this campaign, Blues boss Sarri believes the 31-year-old can end his side's struggles in front of goal.
