Police still don't know the people behind these five big murders

Ghana among other countries, does not often record homicides but there are few incidents of homicide that baffle a lot.

Among the few homicide incidents in Ghana, some are said to be of high profile personalities.

The sad aspect of these high profile homicides are that, the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies have not been able to unravel the mystery or prosecute people for the crime.

Today, YEN.com.gh brings to you high profile murders that are yet to be resolved or yet to see someone prosecuted for it.

1. Fennec Okyere

Fennec Okyere until his death, was the Operations and Marketing Manager of Creator Digital, Logistics Company under the Josbon Group of Companies. He also held other positions in other companies within the Josbon Group.

On the other hand, Fennec was well-known in the Ghanaian entertainment industry because he managed award-winning rapper, Kwaw Kese.

On Thursday, March 13, 2014, Fennec was stabbed to death at home in his Manet Gardens residence at Spintex by unknown assailants.

In the morning of Friday, March 14, 2019, news of his death went viral shocking everyone to the bone because many knew Fennec to be a gentle personality who did not associate with bad gang.

After his murder, the police launched an investigation into the incident and consequently arrested artiste manager Bulldogg known in real life as Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson on Thursday, April 10, 2014 as a prime suspect because Bulldogg was said to have threatened to kill Fennec.

But on September 22, 2017, the Attorney General announced that the state was no more interested in prosecuting Bulldogg thus the former manager of Shatta Wale was freed.

It's been almost 5 years now and the killers of Fennec Okyere have not been found.

2. J.B Danquah

Joseph Boakye Danquah, popularly known as J.B Danquah until his death was the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency. On February 9, 2016, the MP was stabbed to death in his home at Shiashie in Accra.

Two days after the incident, Daniel Asiedu, a 21 year old young man was arrested as the prime suspect.

Weeks later, another young man by name Vincent Bosso was also arrested as a suspect.

The two suspects had since denied killing the legislator but on 20th June, 2018, one of the suspects, Daniel Asiedu confessed to killing the MP and alleged that it was some members of the NPP who contracted him to kill Hon. Danquah.

After the confession, the judge told the accused that he cannot be released for confessing because he is in a committal stage of the trial.

Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bosoo are still in the grips of the CID. Recently it was reported that Daniel Asiedu the prime suspect asked that he should be given lawyers from the International Criminal Court.

The unfortunate part is over two years since J.B Danquah was murdered, the police and CID have not been able to prosecute or jail anyone for the gruesome murder.

3. Captain Maxwell Mahama

On Monday, May 29, 2017, Ghana woke up to a horror video involving a military officer of 5th Infantry Battallion, Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, lynched by a mob in Denkyira-Obuasi.

Captain Mahama was said to have been jogging in the area when some villagers on seeing a pistol on him thought he was an armed robber and consequently raised an alarm leading to a mob injustice meted on the army officer.

After the incident, identification process was undertaken by the CID since some faces were captured in the video and consequently, 20 persons were arrested as suspects.

There has been series of court proceedings on the issue but no one has been convicted for the murder of Captain Mahama.

It's been over a year and the police CID has not unravel the mystery or has prosecuted anyone yet.

After his death, Captain Mahama was promoted to a Major thus became Major Maxwell Adam Mahama.

4. Josephine Asante

Before her demise, Josephine Asante was the Public Affairs Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority.

On Saturday, January 12, 2019, Mrs. Asante was stabbed to death in her bedroom by a yet unknown assailant.

She was said to have returned from a staff party the night before but her child and houseboy woke up to the gruesome murder of their mother.

After the incident, the police CID arrested her houseboy as a suspect since some cash and a wrist watch was found buried in the house.

The houseboy however confirmed that he saw a man in black shirt running out of the house after throwing the keys onto the compound.

It has been days since the gruesome murder but the perpetrator of the crime has not been arrested.

5. Ahmed Hussein-Suale Divera

On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at around 10pm, news of the shooting and killing of Ahmed Hussein-Suale Divera went viral.

The gruesome murder shook everyone because Ahmed after his murder was revealed to be an investigative journalist working with Tiger Eye PI, a company owned by popular investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, Ahmed was said to have been shot five times by some two yet unknown gunmen.

They said the gunmen had already visited Ahmed's vicinity and was waiting for him hours before killing him.

The gunmen were said to have interacted with some of Ahmed's family members before taking away the life of their brother.

After the shooting, the men were said to have sat on a motorbike and sped off.

At the moment, the two men who were seen by Ahmed's family have not been arrested nor any other person arrested for the incident.

Meanwhile prior to the murder, Ahmed who is an investigative journalist thus hides his identity had his identity uncovered by a top politician of the ruling NPP government, Kennedy Agyapong.

Meanwhile Kennedy Agyapong has denied allegation of masterminding the killing since he was recorded to have called for violent attack on the journalist in June 2018 in the wake of the 'Number 12' documentary which exposed rots in the football fraternity of Ghana.
