- The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has revealed that the murdered Ahmed feared for his life
- This was after the publication of his photos by Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, last year following Anas’ ‘Number 12’ documentary
- Ahmed reportedly said that some powerful figures in Ghana, including the one who leaked his photos, sought to harm and cut short his existence
Fresh details gathered by YEN.com.gh have it that the murdered Ahmed Hussein-Suale, partner of Anas Aremeyaw Anas, feared for his life when he was alive.
In a WhatsApp message he reportedly sent to a journalists’ platform, CPJ, which he belonged to, Ahmed was said to have written that some powerful figures in Ghana sought to harm him.
According to a report by the CPJ, Ahmed raised this concerns after the publication of his photos in the media by Kennedy Agyapong, which had his hidden identity spilled out to the public.
The CPJ is an independent, nonprofit organization that promotes press freedom worldwide.
The message, according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Graphiconline.com, also revealed that “the very man who published his mage said he was doing everything possible to quell his existence”.
“Since my image was published and [the] public was incited against me [...] many people have attempted [to attack me]. These criminals after us are people who are [...] associated with powers that be in Ghana and can do anything and get away with it."
"Indeed, it [has] been hinted in some quarters that the very man who published [my image] said he was doing everything possible to quell [my] existence," Ahmed’s Whatsapp message sadly read.
Ahmed, who was a key partner to Anas in his Tiger Eye PI team, was shot dead on the night of Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Madina, Accra.
Eyewitness has narrated how his assailants lurked in the area from afternoon just to kill him when darkness came.
In a more recent report by YEN.com.gh, Ken said Anas must be arrested because he is a prime suspect.
According to him, Anas rushed to announce the death on Facebook with details of how the murder took place, adding that it was uncalled for and raised suspicions against him.
Ken also alleged that Ahmed had fallen out of the team, and a text message available shows that Anas murdered him following a misunderstanding.
In a related development, the family of the late journalist have given the security agencies a short time to produce the killers of their son, otherwise, they would take action.
