‘Ahmed Hussein-Suale died because of one man’s recklessness’- Rawlings

Former president Jerry John Rawlings has broken his silence on the death of Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

According to Rawlings, Ahmed, an investigator with Anas’ Tiger Eye PI died on the decision by one man to unmask him and incite violence against him.

As a result, he wants the appropriate security agencies to fully unravel the circumstances leading to his death and the crime handled in a manner which the perpetrators are severely dealt with.

The former Ghanaian leader made this known via his official Twitter handle.

We are here today largely because one man recklessly unmasked an investigative reporter and issued threats of violence.”

“Ahmed Suale’s killing cannot be allowed to end up like others- unresolved. We have to get to the bottom of these questionable circumstances and their implications for our wider safety.

Ahmed was shot dead at Madina in Accra on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.

The deceased was shot three times, twice in the chest and other in the neck. He was buried on Friday, January 18, 2019.

After investigation of corruption in Ghana football in mid-2018 and the subsequent resignation of GFA president, Kwasi Nyantakyi, Ahmed and his colleagues were heavily criticized.

In attacking Ahmed and his colleagues, Hon. Agyapong leaked his photo in his 'who watches the watchman' anti-Anas video documentary and called on the public to deal with him for a handsome reward.

But Agyapong has rejected claims that he has anything to do with the death of Ahmed.

Meanwhile, a Member of the US Congress Henry Johnson Jr. has proposed a travel ban on Assin Central MP, for his possible role in the murder of undercover investigator, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

The Congressman in a letter to the Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, also recommends a ban on access to the U.S. banking system by Mr. Agyapong, his businesses, and any other appropriate and applicable sanctions.

According to Mr. Johnson, the “professional execution-style slaying of Mr. Hussein-Suale’s murder in the aftermath of Mr. Agyapong’s disgraceful threats raises serious and credible suspicions about the circumstances of this murder.”
