-Minority spokesperson on defense, Mr James Agalga says the police should arrest and investigate Kennedy Agyapong in connection to the murder of journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale
- The Minority also expects investigations to be broadened to ensure that all the perpetrators of this atrocious crime are brought to justice
The Minority in Parliament are calling for the arrest and prosecution of Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, for his alleged perceived role in the killing of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussien-Suale.
According to the NDC Minority, the Assin Central MP, knowingly or unknowingly aided in the killing of the journalist.
“It is on this basis that we state that Mr. Agyapong appears to bear some criminal responsibility for the death of Ahmed for instigating the public to cause harm to Anas for monetary reward,” the Minority said in a press conference addressed by James Agalga, the Minority Spokesperson on Defence and Interior.
“We call on the law enforcement agencies to promptly cause Mr. Agyapong’s arrest and prosecute him for his actions.”
Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot three times on January 16, 2019 at Madina, Accra.
His murder has shocked and drew wide spread condemnation from the global media landscape.
Ahmed was a key member of the Tiger Eye PI Team that uncovered corruption in Ghana football in July 2017, and has also cooperated with the BBC on some investigative pieces as part of his work.
The family of the late journalist, has demanded an unqualified apology from Kennedy Agyapong, following the death of their son.
The family also urged the general public to assist the police find the killers of their son.
