- The NDC has revealed plans of prosecuting Kennedy Agyapong if it wins power in 2020
- It added that unlike the NPP, it doesn't see Agyapong as a god
The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has hinted plans to prosecute the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, in 2021.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Gyamfi added that he is certain the NDC would win the 2020 elections, and would ensure Agyapong’s prosecution soon after it takes charge.
According to Graphic.com.gh, Gyamfi further noted that Agyapong would be prosecuted for his threat against the now deceased investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
He also stated that even though the New Patriotic Party (NPP) sees Agyapong as a god, the NDC is not afraid of Agyapong, and for that reason they would ensure that the laws deal with him.
He stressed that no matter how long it takes for the NDC to come into power, the lawmaker will be brought to book.
He also noted that the MP is a prime suspect in the death of Ahmed, the late investigative journalist, hence he must be investigated.
Gyamfi added that on the basis of the threat of harm, the MP is a candidate for jail even if Ahmed was not killed.
Ahmed was assassinated on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Madina in the Greater Accra region.
