Kevin-Prince Boateng’s father, Prince Boateng, has broken his silence after his son joined Spanish giants, Barcelona.
Kevin-Prince completed a shock loan move from Sassuolo to the five-time European champions on Monday, January 21.
However, senior Boateng in an interview with Sunyani-based Space FM, expressed his excitement with respect to his son’s loan switch.
“Three days ago, he phoned me to expect a surprise,” he said.
He added, “Honestly I wasn't expecting this. When he finally confirmed his move yesterday, it was a great joy for me. To have my two sons at clubs like Bayern and Barcelona at the same time.”
The former AC Milan forward will replace departed Munir El haddadi who joined Sevilla in the January window on a permanent deal.
The 31-year-old, who represented his native country at the 2010 World Cup has scored four goals in 13 appearances for Sassulo this season.
Boateng joined the Italian club from Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga after winning DFB-Pokal last season with a 2-0 victory over champions, Bayern Munich.
The ex-Tottenham star has been influential to Sassulo's strong start in the early part of the season as they topped the table for a number of weeks before losing their position to Juventus and the likes.
