The Member of Parliament for the North Dayi, Joycelyn Tetteh, has described the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming by-election, Lydia Alhassan, as a “side chick” of the late Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.
She said the death of the former law maker, has necessitated his side chick to run on the ticket of the NPP in the constituency.
According to her, the incompetent and incapable NPP government had achieved its aim to destroy, everything that the NDC did.
“Ayawaso West Wuogon is not anybody’s personal property. This seat is not sexually-transmitted. The wisdom that her husband had in parliament wasn’t transmitted through sex”, she added.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Madam Lydia Alhassan, a the widow of the late Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko, emerged victorious in the New Patriotic Party's Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency primary.
In what could be described as a landslide victory, Madam Alhassan polled 441 votes out of the 668 valid votes cast to beat four other contenders.
Her contenders, Madam Victoria Esinam Ansah Offei; Madam Yaa Aboagye; Mr Samuel Amankwah; and Mr Ato Williams got one vote; 76 votes; 19 votes; and 131 votes respectively.
