Mahama arrives in Dagbon for Yaa-Naa Abubakari Mahama II's investiture

Former President John Mahama has arrived at Tamale in the Northern Region to witness the coronation of the new overlord of Dagbon, Yaa-Naa Abubakari Mahama II.
The northern regional secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Salisu Be-Awuribe, disclosed that Mahama will be accompanied to the traditional capital of Dagbang for the historic event.
On Friday, January 18, 2019, the kingmakers who consulted the Dagbang oracles successfully completed the traditional processes and settled on Yo-Naa Abubakari Mahama as the new Yaa-Naa.

Yo-Naa was among four persons including Nyab Tampion-Lana, Nyab Kampakuya-Naa and Nyab Boling-Lana, whose names came up as possible successors of the late Ya-Naa whose funeral has been performed.
The consulting elders include Gushei Naa and Kuganaa who nominated the Chief of Savelugu to succeed the late Ya Naa Yakubu Andani II who died in 2002.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that all 24 widows left behind by Ya Naa Yakubu Andani II have successfully passed a test of faithfulness.
