- He added that it may reach a point where he can no longer restrain them

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ledzokuku, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, has revealed that the people of Teshie are upset about their poor roads.

Per a report by citifmonline.com, he added that it may reach a stage where he can no longer restrain them.

According to him, things would get out of hand if the government fails to keep its promise of completing the Teshie-Spintex road.

He further noted that work is scheduled to resume on the road project latest by the end of March 2019.

The 7.5km road connects Teshie Lascala, Aglizaa and Manet estate through to Spintex.

The MP went on to say that a $20m contract has been awarded to a contractor “who is mobilizing to the site.”

Before this, Dr. Okoe Boye said he had given his all to ensure that the road project is completed.

“I have done what a human being can do in terms of pursuing a project. I have explained to my constituents for close to two years; you explain to a point and you can’t go any further,” he said.

The MP added that he has dedicated almost 50% of his efforts at competing the road, but to no avail.

With a hint of frustration, he disclosed that even though he has informed all the key players whose efforts could help finish the road, nothing substantial has been achieved.

For that reason, he said, the people of Teshie can mobilize themselves in the open, in a bid to enforce the completion of the road project.

“I have given myself to the end of the first quarter. If by the first quarter we don’t see results, all I can say is that it may be difficult to still keep my people as calm as they are. I have kept them calm for a long time.

If you traditionally know my people, I don’t think those in Adenta are more aggressive than my people. If you talk about aggression and being wild, those in Adenta don’t come anywhere near those in Teshie,” the MP said.
