Akufo-Addo led government deserves all the praise for the peace in Dagbon - Obiri Boahen
The Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen said all praise must be sang to the Akufo-Addo led administration for restoring peace to Dagbon.
He said the NPP after 17 years of conflict following the assassination of the previous Dagbon overlord deserved all praise for the current peace in Dagbon.
According to him, previous governments from the camp of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), late president John Evan Atta Mills and former president John Mahama never contributed or took steps to have the over decade conflict resolved.

Speaking to Accra based Okay FM, Obiri Boahen said anytime Akufo-Addo went to Yendi he made it a point to visit the Bole Lana and later visits Kampakuya
“President Mahama or Mills never visited Yendi and went to Kampakuya, never, I want this thing to be on record. President Mahama never visited Bole Nana, President Mills never visited Bole Lana,” he said.
To him, the reason the two ex-presidents were unsuccessful in resolving the matter was because they lacked the courage to do so.

He mentioned that, the former presidents showed no sign of resolve due to certain key persons who had an interest in what was going on and therefore advised them to stay away from Dagbon matters.
“The perception is that Bole Lana is an NPP member and Kampakuya is an NDC member and therefore President Mahama and Mills didn’t have the political courage to say when I get to Yendi, I won’t allow anyone to dictate to me, that I will visit Bole Lana and Kampakuya myself” he said.
He added that Nana Addo did well when he was in opposition and after becoming President too he has done very well.
Meanwhile, the newly enskinned Yaa-Naa of Dagbon, Yaa-Naa Abukari Mahama II, has promised to diligently serve his people and be fair to all.
