- NPP's Ashanti regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has spoken of a plot by former president Mahama to kill him
- According to him, Mahama is working with former NDC Ashanti regional chairman, Daniel Agyekum, to eliminate him
- Agyekum has however denied the claim adding that he would consider legal action
The Ashanti Regional minister of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has claimed that former president Mahama wants him dead.
According to Ghanaweb.com, he Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, claimed that Mahama is colluding with the former Ashanti regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Daniel Agyekum, to execute the plot.
Wontumi went on to say that the two NDC stalwarts hatched a plan to end his life about a month ago, but did not succeed.
Speaking on Ash FM, he further noted they wished him dead because they are worried the NDC will lose the 2020 elections as long as he (Wontumi) is life.
He further noted that the National Security is aware of the plan, and is monitoring it.
Wontumi openly dared Mahama and Ohene Agyekum to react to his allegations if they believe he is telling lies.
Agyekum has meanwhile reacted to the accusation, claiming that it is nothing more than a blatant lie.
He stated that he does not know Wontumi as a person and is therefore surprised at the allegations made against him.
Speaking on Nhyira FM, he added that he has not been invited together with Mahama, with respect to the allegations.
He went on to say that he would consider taking legal action if National Security eventually invites him about Wontumi’s allegations.
