- MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has promised to reveal secrets about Anas Aremeyaw Anas and the IGP, David Asante-Appeatu
- He explained that Anas played a role in Asante-Appeatu's appointment as IGP
- According to him, the IGP drove to Labone to thank Anas for his job
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has stated that he would reveal secrets about the appointment of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Appeatu.
Mynewsgh.com reports that Agyapong claims the IGP is subservient to investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
For that reason, Agyapong went on, the IGP is incapable of investigating the death of Anas’ colleague, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
He went on to say that the IGP drove to Labone to thank Anas for his appointment as head of the police service.
“I have a lot of people who have information, but they say they will never give it to the police. They said they don’t trust the police because Anas controls them.
The police can send a letter to the Speaker of Parliament requesting to interrogate me, but they’ve never called Anas because he appointed the IGP.
He appointed this one; the current IGP was interviewed by him. I’m not scared of anybody because this is a life and death matter,” Agyapong added.
Agyapong also had a few words for the former IGP, John Kudalor. According to him, Kulador failed to properly handle violence that erupted at the residence of President Akufo-Addo.
