Newcastle's battle against relegation received a huge boost after Rafa Benitez managed to scoop three points from defending league champions Manchester City at St James' park on Tuesday, January 29.

Benitez gave his former team Liverpool a huge EPL title boost after Salomon Rondon's effort in the 66th minute found the back of the net and hand the Magpies a crucial equaliser.

Matt Richtie's spot kick in the 80th minute sailed his team through to victory after they were able to hold on to the lead and kill the game despite City's frantic efforts.
