The Ghana Medical and Dental Council (GMDC) has said all efforts to close down the Advanced Body Sculpt Centre also known as Obengfo Hospital has failed.
The Council has alerted patients who wish to visit the facility to be cautious about it.
The Registrar of the GMDC, Dr. E. K. Atikpui in an interview with Citi FM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 said that all efforts to close down the facility and prevent its owner from illegal practice has proved futile.
“Unfortunately, the Medical and Dental Council is not a law enforcing agency and, therefore, we have done our part directing or assisting; or the police assisting us to make sure that that institution is closed," he said.
Dr. Obeng-Andoh was charged for practicing medicine without a license and operating an unlicensed medical facility.
The Police on Friday, January 11 2019, said it had received an “interim report” from the Attorney General’s office on the alleged murder case involving Dr. Obeng-Andoh and his worker.
The Ghana police service has however issued new criminal summons against Dr Dominic Kwame Obeng-Andoh, owner of the infamous Obengfo Hospital at Weija in Accra.
These new charges come just a week after the doctor was discharged for want of prosecution by an Accra circuit court on January 23, 2019.
The police on Monday, January 28, filed their new summons perhaps in light of new evidence that has come to light.
