News reaching YEN.com.gh have it that two people have been shot dead at the ongoing by-election at Ayawaso West Wuogon.
According to a news programme monitored by YEN.com.gh on GHOne TV, the shooting happened around the premises of the NDC candidate, Delali Brempong.
The dead persons, according to an eyewitnesses who spoke with the TV station, were NDC supporters who were shot in the back of the head, and another person in the stomach, ribs and legs.
Tempers were flying at the premises when the GHOne TV cameras reached the house.
Some NDC supporters were threatening to resort to violence to address the issues emanating from the election.
One of them, speaking with the TV station, said it was not right for anyone to come close to the house of the NDC candidate to fire gunshots.
Security is currently tight at the candidate’s premises which has been locked up and media men were being refused entry.
Meanwhile, the NDC has withdrawn from the race saying it will no longer contest in the by-election.
They have blamed the decision to pull out on "indiscriminate shooting" and "intimidation" by the national security operatives against the NDC.
Meanwhile, the NPP has also blamed the NDC for the chaos in the constituency.
