Ghanaian singer Mzbel has complained about how hard life was treating her after the NDC failed to win power in 2016.
Mzbel had openly endorsed former president John Mahama and actively campaigned for the NDC in the 2016 election hoping that the party would win, but that was not so.
The ’16 years’ hitmaker said the consequences of her actions are now so harsh that she has lost everything she had before going ahead with the endorsement.
Mzbel said she has lost business deals, fans, and many things because she endorsed Mahama and the NDC.
“…The party [NDC] I have registered as a member and sang for in 2016 has affected what I do…my own party. People are like you are a celebrity and you’re not supposed to be vocal about the party you love,” Mzbel revealed.
“I have lost a lot of fans, I have lost a lot of businesses, I have lost so many things just because I was vocal about politics,” she cried.
By saying her endorsement has affected what she does, it could mean that the Mzbel is currently struggling with her music career.
The formerly active singer who was ‘all over’ on social media prior to the 2016 election seems to have coiled into her shells.
She is currently the host of a love show on an Accra-based radio station.
Meanwhile, popular actor, John Dumelo, has said no celebrity must be victimised for making public their preferred political party.
He was also one of the celebrities who campaigned for Mahama in the electioneering period of 2016.
