Ghanaians react after Richard Commey wins the world title

Social media users have reacted after Ghana’s Richard Commey won the International Boxing Federation (IBF) world lightweight belt.

Commey secured the vacant belt on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in Frisco, Texas after stopping Russia’s Isa Chaniev.

The James Town native dropped Chaniev three times en route to a round two stoppage.

Following that vintage win by Commey, social media users took to YEN.com.gh’s Facebook page to congratulate the 31-year-old boxer.

For instance, Benjamin Lartey hailed Commey for making Ghana proud.

Felix Amponsah Tei also congratulated the new champion.

Akoto Charles Owusu commented by congratulating Commey.

Selection Selection was full of praise for Commey.

Fosu Yaw extended his compliment to Commey.

Paul Adasi elated for Commey's triumph.

Many other users praised Commey for lifting the flag of Ghana high in the United States of America (USA).

Meanwhile, Commey injured his right hand during the fight against Chaniev.

He will go for an x-ray on Monday, February 4, 2019 to ascertain the extent of his injury.
