A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere-Darko, has reacted to comments attributed to Former President John Mahama, with respect to unleashing violence.
According to a report by Myjoyonline.com, Otchere-Darko stated that the NPP does not compete with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) when it comes to matters that could set Ghana back.
His comments come after Mahama had allegedly stated that no one could compete with the NDC when it comes to unleashing violence.
“The NDC has revolutionary roots and when it comes to unleashing violence. Nobody can beat us in unleashing violence,” he warned the NPP.
Mahama’s comments followed reports of violence recorded on the day of the by-election at the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
“It burns the heart whenever some elements do things that allow NPP to be compared to NDC negatively,” Otchere-Darko reacted on social media.
Some Ghanaians, in a similar fashion, took to social media to express their opinions about Otchere-Darko’s statement:
Dodoo however disagreed with Gabby's assertion
Anikoba added that the brouhaha surrounding the South African mercenaries is still fresh in the minds of Ghanaians.
Anazun added that Ghana is meanwhile on a reverse gear.
In Umar's opinion, that kind of politics needs to stop.
