Ebony's first anniversary: Latest photo of her tomb gets Ghanaians weeping

Friday, February 8, 2019, marked exactly one year since dancehall diva, Ebony Reigns, passed away.

To remember the 90s Bhadgyal, as Ebony was also known, the singer's father, Nana Poku Kwarteng, took to social media to release a special video expressing his sadness over his daughter's death.

Ricky Nana Agyemang aka Bullet, CEO of RuffTown Records, the record label that managed Ebony before her untimely death also posted a photo of the silky singer with a touching message.

Being the star that she was, the remembrance for Ebony was not left to her family and colleagues. Just like her death and funeral it literally became a national affair.

Many photos and videos of Ebony flooded social media as Ghanaian celebrities and ordinary citizens marked the dancehall diva's first death anniversary in their own ways.

One of the many images to remember Ebony that caught attention on social media was that of the singer's tomb which is made in colours similar to her controversial casket.

The photo of Ebony's tomb has stirred emotions on social media just like a photo of her graveyard cast in concrete immediately after she was buried on March 24.

Many people who have come across the image on social media have expressed their sadness.

Aaron Kweku Gyimakh could not control his tears: "I am very sad today and I can't control myself. Rip."

Al-hassan Sagacious wished Ebony a peaceful rest: "Ebony my dear sister may your soul Rest in perfect peace."

And so did Al Bangoura Moziz who said: "Continue to rest in peace"

Mabel Quaye also said: "Rest in peace and raised in glory."

Born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, Ebony died in a car crash on the Sunyani-Kumasi Highway.

Ebony, in the company of her friend, Franky Kuri; bodyguard, Francis Atsu Vondee; and driver, Chartey Oko; had visited her mother, Beatrice Oppong in Sunyani and were returning to Accra when their Jeep collided VIP bus.

With the exception of the driver, all the passengers on board died in the accident.

Ebony would have been 21 years old on February 16, 2018.
