The latest development regarding the validity of the Ghana passport was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the press statement sighted by YEN.com.gh, the extension takes effect from Sunday, March 31, 2019.
The letter was signed by the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Mohammed Habibu Tijani and addressed to all Ghanaian Missions abroad.
It stated, however, that the processing fees for passports remain the same until further notice.
"Extension of the validity of passport booklets from five to ten years. Missions are hereby informed that government has decided to extend the validity of ordinary passport booklets issued to qualified Ghanaian applicants from five to ten years (5-10 years) with effect from 31st March, 2019.
