YEN.com.gh understands that celebrated Ghanaian pollster, Ben Ephson, tipped former president John Mahama to win the 2016 elections, but he lost to President Akufo-Addo.
Ephson predicted that Mahama would get 52.9% of the votes, against Akufo-Addo’s 45.9%, but that failed to happen.
President Akufo-Addo won 5,716,026 votes, representing 53.9%, and Mahama had 4,713,277, representing 44.4% of the votes.
“People going round with all these media frenzies will have another shock. I will triumph and will win this flagbearership race. Vote Bagbin!” Bagbin said.
The seven people in the race to become the flagbearer of the NDC are Bagbin, Mahama, Professor Joshua Alabi, Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Sylvester Mensah, Augustus Tanoh, and Nurudeen Iddrisu.
