Ghanaian comedian and political commentator, A-Plus, known in real life as Kwame Asare Obeng, has heavily slammed President Akufo-Addo for soliciting funds towards building the national cathedral.
In a video that YEN.com.gh sighted on the Instagram page of Archipalago, the former musician was heard slamming the president.
In the video, A-Plus revealed his support for Joyce Dzidzor Mensah after Joyce mocked the president with a video soliciting funds from passengers on a train in Germany.
A-Plus then continued to tag NPP members as hypocrites, saying that if it were John Mahama who wanted to build the cathedral, the same people would have complained.
"NPP people are not thinking. We don't have schools, we don't have hospitals but the president wants to build a church for Jesus Christ to come and stay inside." he slammed.
A-Plus further slammed the president and those claiming that money for the cathedral is not coming from government coffers.
Some Instagram users on watching the video had this to say:
@_.rheem supported what A-Plus said: "A-Plus just took the words right out of my mouth."
@swt_diamonds blamed A-Plus for being part of the problem: "But seriously senior man if you say this, you're also part of the hypocrisy, many Ghanaians voted for NPP sake of your involvement, now we don't even know where you belong."
@prettydoree slammed A-Plus instead and accused him of being a hypocrite: "A Plus u the leader of hypocrites so shut up, did he talk about the national mosque when it was built during Mahama time?? from musician to politics very soon party leader ##wearenotfools.... don’t trust anyone they are in for their selfish interest."
@shyboy_stunner thinks A-Plus is wise: "Kwame A Plus is very right...Ghanaians should wise up."
@r_fame praises A-Plus and thinks he is right: "@kwameaplus you are the best I will forever love you ..honesty and integrity."
A-Plus seems to receive both support and backlash for his comments and rant at the President concerning the national cathedral.
A-Plus before the 2016 general elections was a staunch commentator for the NPP party.
Few months after the NPP assumed power, A-Plus fell out with the NPP after he made some allegations against the two deputy Chiefs of Staff.
Since then, A-Plus has been slamming the NPP for supposed mismanagement of the country.
