Kumasi shooting: Sister of dead NDC man speaks about threats before and after his death

- Habiba, a sister of the man who was shot during an NDC meeting at Kumasi, has claimed that her brother recieved death threats

- She added that after his death, a man threatened to kill her for circulating his photos

- Habiba revealed that a recording of the threat has been handed over to the police

Family members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) member who lost his life during the shooting incident at Kumasi in the Ashanti region, has opened up about death threats.

A spokesman for the family disclosed that the deceased’s sister has been receiving death threats from some unidentified people.

Adomonline.com.gh reports that the yet-to-be-identified spokesman stated that Habiba, the sister in question, was told she would be killed.

According to her, an unidentified man, who is a suspect in the case, threatened to kill her for sharing his photos.

She reportedly received a call from a man called Gyenyame War Leader, who said he would kill her if he met her anywhere.

YEN.com.gh understands that Habiba recorded the call it and it would be handed over to the police to help with investigations.

In an interview, Habiba claimed that her brother received death threats before he lost his life.

“Before he left the house, he had a call to come to the NDC party office, he left the house and a few hours later we heard that he was shot on his motorbike close to the party office,” she stated.

The shooting incident occurred during a meeting between the national and regional officers of the NDC.

One person, who was also shot, is said to be in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Four people, believed to members of the vigilante group, the Hawks, are being sought by the police.
