The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has dropped details about a plot to assassinate the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking in an interview on Net 2, he explained that he is in possession of a video, which spans over two hours as well as other materials to support his words.
In an effort to prove his claims, he requested for a portion of the video to be played and a group of people were heard discussing matters relating to the economy of Ghana, especially concerns raised about the cedi and the exchange rate.
The modus operandi, he went on, was to discredit Dr. Bawumia and tag him as incompetent, with respect to his work.
Agyapong therefore called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be united, as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) clearly exhibits that attribute.
He did not end there; he stated that the NDC planned in June/July 2018 to ensure that Ghanaians do not feel safe in the country.
This, he said, they hoped to achieve by a number of strategies, one of which was the meeting between former president Mahama and some diplomats, to show them videos revealing acts of violence at the recently held by-election at the Ayawaso West Wuogon.
He went on to say that, the shooting incidents at La Bawalashie and Kumasi were also pre-planned and people were trained at a place called White Sands for that purpose.
Agyapong explained that NDC concluded it cannot campaign on NPP’s governance, as they would have no strong points to make a case.
For that reason, he went on, the NDC sought to employ the services of vigilante groups to cause Ghanaians to feel insecure.
He went ahead to name Mahama, former Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu-Juabeng, Yamoah Ponkoh and former deputy Ashanti regional minister, Joseph Yammin as those behind the formation of the pro-NDC vigilante groups, The Hawks.
Agyapong therefore stated that he would forever support the activities of pro-NPP groups such as the Delta Forces and the Invisible Forces.
