Award-winning dancehall musician Stonebwoy has reconciled with music producer, Beatz Dakay, YEN.com.gh can report.
This is according to a photo Stonebwoy shared on his Snapchat which has been sighted by YEN.com.gh.
In the photo, Stonebwoy and Dakay were seen in a studio and the inscription on the photo suggested they were recording a new song.
Stonebwoy and his former beat maker struck a formidable partnership with Dakay producing many of the singer's biggest songs when he started establishing himself as a great artiste.
But after teaming up to make songs like Go Higher, Mightylele and many others, the two parted ways in 2017 amid reports of a rift.
The reports at the time suggested that the two were fighting over money issues.
According to Flex Newspaper report, Dakay had demanded 20 per cent from all the proceeds Stonebwoy's shows were going to bring since he was not charging him for the beats he produced. But Stonebwoy was only willing to give five per cent.
This created a rift leading Stonebwoy to sideline Dakay after the singer set up a studio in his house. And Dakay complained, Stonebwoy reportedly stormed the beat maker's studio to vandalise the place.
While many had thought the split would negatively affect Stonebwoy's career, he has been able to survive and even grown to become a bigger artiste. But it looks like he feels old friends are the best.
The reconciliation with Dakay comes just a few days after Stonebwoy hinted that he will be leaving Nana Appiah Mensah's Zylofon Media label.
Stonebwoy who signed onto Zylofon in June 2017, just about four months after splitting with Dakay, has decided not to renew with his current contract with the label when it expires in May.
