The Executive Director of Economic and Organized Crime office (EOCO), ACP K.K. Amoah has confirmed his resignation from office.
According to ACP Amoah, his contract as boss of EOCO has not been renewed by President Akufo-Addo.
He however debunked allegations that he is not retiring voluntarily but instead has been sacked from office.

In a report sighted on Citinewsroom.com, ACP Amoah noted that he was retiring from office but not being sacked as some rumors have it.
ACP Amoah who is over 70 years, per the directive is due to leave office at the end of February 2019 since his contract has ended.
Prior to his denial, some section of the media reported that ACP Amoah had been sacked from his post.
ACP Amoah had been on a two-year contract at the anti-corruption agency that ends in February.
It was reported that ACP Amoah was asked to leave office because he is part of CEOs who are over the age of 60.
But contrary to the report, ACP Amoah said he has not been sacked but instead going on retirement since his contract has not been renewed.

ACP Amoah, before this revelation, was not included in the list of CEOs that popped up in January 2019.
In January, a list of six CEOs popped up as heads of state agencies who will be sacked due to their old age.
But government at the time came out to deny the allegation and said that the CEOs will not be sacked.
In Ghana, the law requires that no one should occupy an office above age 60 but are entitled to a five year contract should they be called upon to serve.
