- The Military High Command has declared its intention to sanction all officers caught in Anas' galamsey video

- The head of PR of the Ghana Armed Forces, Col. Aggrey Quarshie, revealed that the Command has watched the video and is ready to deal with those involved

The Military High Command has revealed plans of sanctioning officers who were caught in the investigative documentary by Tiger Eye PI.

Citinewsroom.com reports that this follows an investigative report that captures officials of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on illegal Mining (IMCIM), who allegedly took monies from Tiger Eye PI crew for favours.

According to the head of public relations at the Ghana Armed Forces, Col. Aggrey Quarshie, the Command has watched the video, and all officers who engaged in corrupt acts will be dealt with.

One of the key people seen in the video is presidential staffer and secretary to the IMCIM, Charles Bissue, who is seen accepting money ostensibly to facilitate clearance for a mining company without going through due process.

He is also heard in the video instructing his subordinates to fast track the processing of the company’s documents.

Several others connected to the work of the committee, otherwise known as the Presidential Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, are seen in the video playing “facilitating” roles at negotiated fees.

The Inter-Ministerial Committee on illegal mining was commissioned in March 2017 by President Akufo-Addo to sanitize artisanal and small-scale mining in the country.
