Church of Pentecost denies asking for Ofosu Ampofo audio recording

The Church of Pentecost Ghana has come out to deny media reports that it had requested for the leaked tape of the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, who is an elder of the church.

According to Daily Guide reports, the Church said it had nothing to do with his comments.

The church said those comments were not made in the church but rather within political circles so, it does not attract any attention from them.

There were reports making the round that the Church had requested for the tape to enable it take a decision on the status of Ofosu Ampofo as an elder of the church.

Ampofo has been under fire since an audio attributed to him leaked in the media.

The content of the leaked tape has drawn widespread criticism from a section of the public, with many condemning the NDC Chairman.

In the audio, he is heard saying many things, including urging verbal attacks on the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa.

Ampofo is also heard saying that party communicators are free to insult the Peace Council Chairman, Professor Emmanuel Asante.

The NDC Chairman has since been invited by the Police CID to assist in investigations regarding the said tape.
