The Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi-Asokwa, K.T Hammond, has argued that the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, cannot be the only founder of Ghana.
According to a report by Pulse.com.gh, he argued that inasmuch as Dr. Nkrumah’s contributions to Ghana are well documented, it will be wrong to claim he was the pioneer.
The MP’s argument followed a debate on new changes in Ghana’s public holidays. YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the minority side in Parliament staged a walkout, claiming they will not be part of a process to change Ghana’s history.
Some Ghanaians however took to social media to condemn the MP’s comments:
Kane wondered if Nkrumah needed anyone's endorsement.
Akua sarcastically asked if J.B Danquah was Ghana's president
Arthur expressed fears NPP will soon change Ghana's name.
Azu believes there are interesting times ahead
Kpan asked that he returns the drill ship he stole before he expresses his opinion.
