Former NDC MCE argues Ofosu Ampofo’s tape is not a ‘big deal’

- An NDC official, Akwasi Agyeman Boadi, has claimed that the alleged leaked tape of party chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, is not a big deal.

- According to him, it is easy to doctor a tape in order to achieve an objective

- He added that even the CID boss, Maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah, was secretly recorded on tape

A former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi, Akwasi Agyeman Boadi, has claimed that he is not surprised about the alleged leaked recording with the voice of the national chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, on it.

In a report by Mynewsgh.com, he explained that there is nothing unusual about the tape, as such items could be easily doctored.

Boadi, who is currently a member of the party’s communications team, added, “this is not my first time hearing a politician secretly recorded and played back by some people from other party.”

He went on to say that if the director-general of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service (GPS), Maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah was recorded, then it means that Ofosu Ampofo’s tape is nothing unusual.

Ofosu Ampofo earlier explained that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sleepless nights because he is the chairman of a party that is giving them a run for their cash and poised to snatch power in 2020.

Speaking to party supporters after a victory health walk in Accra on Saturday, March 2, 2019, he said, “I want to assure you that the NDC Chairman has not run away from anybody.

Our lawyers have informed the CID that the national chairman of the NDC will come to the CID headquarters to answer any questions that they want.”

His comments follow accusations about inciting members of the party to constantly condemn some prominent people in Ghana.

He is also reported to have stated that the NDC transported vigilantes to the venue of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election held on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
