Residents of Abeka Lapaz terrorised by Fadama Muslim youth

Residents of Abeka Lapaz Agbonaa, one of the many suburbs of Accra have been living in fear as some rampaging youth of Fadama have vandalised properties in retaliation of the death of one of their own.

According to JoyNews' reports, the cause of the whole chaos started after the burial of one Muslim guy who was believed to have been stabbed by some persons in a squabble.

The vandalism started around 4am Tuesday morning, March 5, 2019. They destroyed properties running into hundreds of cedis.

According to an eye witness report, the boy who was stabbed died immediately he was taken home and has since been buried in accordance with Muslim customs.

He added that the Fadama youth besieged the community in search of the person who stabbed their brother and friend, leading to his death.

"I have never witnessed anything like this in my entire life. Those hoodlums came to our house to smash the windows, beating innocent people and looting all the shops. They were using long knives and scary objects," he said.

Meanwhile social media users have reacted to reports trickling in from Abeka Lapaz. They seem to have had enough of these hoodlums who capitalize on their own sentiments to cause fear and panic amongst people.

Stephen expresses his anger at the rate at which Muslims look for any avenue to cause chaos.

Gyan explained that there has been a long standing feud between the youth of Fadama and Abeka.
