An unidentified man was picked up by security officials present at the celebration of Ghana’s 62nd Independence Day celebrations, after he tried to steal a motorbike.
Per a report by Mynewsgh.com, the suspect was caught as he tried to start the motorbike with a different key.
YEN.com.gh understands that there has been heavy military presence at Tamale, Northern region’s capital, which was chosen as the venue for the 62nd Independence Day celebrations.
The event, which had the theme, “celebrating peace and unity,” was used as an opportunity to cement the road map for peace after the resolution of the Dagbon crises.
Being held outside Accra for the first time, the event brought together traditional leaders as well as the people of the region.
Other people present included government officials, students, military officers and other stakeholders.
President Akufo-Addo, who arrived at Tamale on Tuesday, March 6, 2019, pledged to ensure that the venue for the event is rotated to other places in future.
