The vice president of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called for Ghanaian youths, especially those in the Zongo communities, to desist from vigilantism.
Per a report by Graphiconline.com.gh, he stated that the youths should rather focus on the major challenges of their communities.
According to him, issues such as jobs, education, and business development should be their focus to promote their welfare and the development of the nation.
Speaking at the 51st anniversary celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by Sheikh Abdul Wadud in Kumasi on Sunday, March 10, 2019, Bawumia expressed worry that many of the people said to be engaged in political vigilantism and other anti-social behaviour are said to come from the Zongo community.
Bawumia sounded a note of caution that President Akufo-Addo has publicly indicated his resolve to crack down on political vigilantism, and will deal ruthlessly with anyone engaged in such activities.
