The member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has blamed some of Ghana's problems on the Church of Pentecost alleging that the church's pronouncements on religion are problematic for development.
The controversial lawmaker is not one to hold on to his criticisms of those he disagrees with. But that also opens him up to criticisms from many Ghanaians.
YEN.com.gh took to Facebook to ask Ghanaians what they made of Agyapong's thoughts on the Church of Pentecost. Largely, the responses were critical of the lawmaker, perhaps not surprising seeing that Ghana is a heavily Christian country.
We sampled some of the views by the respondents most representing of the general sentiments shared.
Isaac Kyei Andoh noted sarcastically that the "Church of Pentecost founded the Invincible Forces. The Church of Pentecost gave the Castle keys to The Eye Recruitment/Vigilante Limited..."
The Facebook user listed many other wrongs they felt Agyapong and other politicians could own up to.
Another Facebook user, Joyce Arthur, dismissed Agyapong as a man who has "never been serious".
Arthur cited Agyapong's criticisms of Anas Aremeyaw Anas as an example of how wrong Agyapong could be.
Another Facebook user mentioned that they thought "a bunch of noise makers" were responsible for Ghana's problems. Not surprisingly, the noise makers include the likes of Agyapong.
Lastly, Stephen Mamah wrote: "Irresponsible comment from an irresponsible man. Is your Owusu Bempah born out of Pentecost?"
Like other respondents, Mamah wondered why other government-affiliated Christian leaders were not the subject of attack from Agyapong.
