Reports have come through of an alleged Manchester United fan who committed suicide in the aftermath of his team's loss to Arsenal on Sunday, March 10, 2019.
The die-hard Kenyan Manchester United fan hanged himself basically because he lost an amount of 60,000 Kenyan Shillings or GHC 3,389 on United to win.
Arsenal on Sunday, March 10, 2019, defeated Manchester United by two goals to nil with Granit Xhaka scoring in the 12th minute and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring from the spot on a controversial call at the 69th minute to make it 2-0.
But the man, only identified as Ogolla, a staunch Manchester United fan, committed suicide at around 9 pm local time.
The deceased, according to close friends, had indicated that the odds for Manchester United were laughable against Arsenal. This was laughable to him especially against the backdrop that the Red Devils had beaten PSG a few days before the Arsenal game.
Indeed, Venasnews.co.ke reports that Ogolla could not fathom United failing to score in the game and as such, deposited another amount to stake again.
This time, getting to the end of the game, the hopeful investor placed a bet on United to at least, score a goal but the Mancunians could not.
Unfortunately, Ogolla felt the heartbreak and financial loss were too much to bear.
Meanwhile, a Nigerian passenger on Delta Air Lines Flight DL54 travelling from Atlanta, United States to Lagos was on the afternoon of March 11, 2019, found unresponsive before landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos state.
The 54-year-old passenger (name withheld), who was ill before boarding the flight, died three minutes before the aircraft touched down at the airport.
